Airthings Wave Smart Radon Detector Product Review

Just because you don’t smoke doesn’t mean that you won’t ever get lung cancer. One of the main reasons for this is a gas called radon, which is radioactive and is mostly found in areas where there’s plenty of coal. Nest Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Product Review

This is the next generation Nest Protect, and it’s more than your average smoke and carbon monoxide detector. It learned its lessons from the first generation of the Nest Protect, as well as the various problems with the other similar detectors in the industry. With this new Nest Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm, Nest aims to make sure that you have a detector that actually helps, and not one that make your life worse.

For us at Rescue One Restoration, a Hawaii residential restoration service company, we recommend the Nest Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm.

Features

The Nest Protect comes in either battery or wired form. The battery-powered version uses 6 AA batteries, and that’s good enough for 5 years. So it’s not as if you’re going to be constantly changing batteries. You can then download the free app so you can control it with your smartphone.

The Protect doesn’t make annoying beeps when its batteries are low. Instead, it sends a message to your phone even before your batteries will give out. These messages regarding battery power are reliable and accurate, as the unit checks its batteries up to 400 times a day. It even checks its speakers once a month. A yellow light tells you that there’s a problem, though a red light warns that there’s a serious problem.  Continue reading “Nest Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Product Review”
